MING Introduces a Vanishing Dial
MING has built its reputation on dials that reward a second look — surfaces that play with light, depth, and finish rather than demanding attention with color. The 57.04 Iris broke that pattern with the brand's first multiphasic color-shifting treatment. The new 29.06 Peep Show takes the idea further. The trick is in the hands.
Underneath everything sits an iridescent CNC-machined guilloché dial finished with that same multiphasic coating. On its own, it would give any watch real character. But MING has replaced the traditional hour and minute hands with discs of linearly polarized sapphire — one each. As they rotate relative to one another, polarization either reveals the dial below or shuts it off completely. When the discs align, the color comes alive. When they cross at 90°, the dial blacks out. Over the course of a day, the watch cycles continuously between bright iridescence, soft reflection, and full darkness.

The Peep Show is housed in MING's 29-series case — 40mm in diameter, 11.8mm thick, 44.5mm lug-to-lug, machined from grade-5 titanium with the signature seamless-crystal and flying-blade interlocking lugs. The absence of a traditional bezel lets the deep box sapphire form an uninterrupted viewing window straight across the dial, exactly where the attention belongs.
Flip the watch over and you'll find the second-generation Schwarz-Etienne for MING calibre ASE 200: a skeletonized barrel that doubles as a visual power reserve, openworked bridges and a four-level "staircase" rotor guard finished with diamond-cut anglage, and a tungsten micro-rotor on ceramic ball bearings delivering 86 hours of autonomy.

The Peep Show is proof of MING's 21st-century watchmaking ethos — deep technical innovation in service of a watch that quietly performs for whoever's paying attention.
