About J.N. Shapiro:

Josh Shapiro has always been fascinated by the historical and mechanical aspects of watches, but his passion for watchmaking ignited when he saw a giant advertisement for a Chronoswiss Opus Skeleton outside a local luxury store. He was 26 years old.

Ten years later, his career in high-school education is a thing of the past. Shapiro is now a fully-fledged independent watchmaker with four fulltime employees. They make limited-edition pieces by hand, featuring his own movement and dial decoration. All J.N. Shapiro watch cases are machined in-house.

His journey into watchmaking began with skeletonizing Swiss-made ETA movements, while working through the British Horological Institute’s distance learning program. Following three years of engine-turning and machining practice, he felt confident enough to create engine-turned watch dials for others – most notably, the master clock- and watchmaker, David Walter. Shapiro’s idea for the Infinity Series emerged then, and has since manifested in a collection of rare timepieces that have made their mark on American horology.
