Sleight of Hands
MING built its reputation on quiet dials — the kind that reward a second look rather than demand the first one. The 57.04 Iris broke that pattern with a multiphasic, color-shifting treatment that turned light itself into the design language. The 29.06 Peep Show takes the next step, and the trick is in the hands. Gone are the traditional hour and minute hands, replaced by discs of linearly polarized sapphire suspended over an iridescent guilloché dial. When the discs align, light passes through and the color comes alive. When they cross at ninety degrees, transmission cuts off and the watch turns completely black. As time moves, the display breathes continuously between color, reflection, and darkness — a watch that quietly performs for whoever's paying attention.
