Built Around What’s Usually Buried

Most watches hide the barrel under the dial. Armin Strom flipped the motor barrel so the arbor turns while the barrel stays still, then put it in the open, off to one side, as the dial’s visual counterweight. The part that’s usually buried is the first thing you see.

• Movement: in-house Armin Strom manufacture Caliber AMW21, hand-wound, flat hairspring with variable inertia balance wheel, 3.5Hz (25,200vph), 100-hour power reserve from a single motor barrel
• Barrel: inverted motor-barrel architecture (arbor turns, barrel stays stationary), hand-finished, exposed as the dial’s visual counterweight
• Functions: hours, minutes, seconds
• Dial: off-center blue dial with an adjacent grenage-finished plate that shifts hue as light changes
• Hands: manufactured in-house from stainless steel, hand-finished
• Case: stainless steel, 38mm diameter, 9mm height, 44.35mm lug-to-lug, 18mm lug width, 5 ATM water resistance, sapphire crystal and caseback with anti-reflective treatment
• Strap: black alligator leather, stainless steel double folding clasp
• Limited edition: 100 pieces, individually numbered “1 of 100” on the caseback
